The Latest BRIZ Is Here!

We’re excited to share that the newest edition of BRIZ, Brislington’s free community newsletter, has just landed and is now being delivered to homes and local hubs.

This issue is packed with artwork, stories, reflections, and recommendations – all created by our brilliant volunteer editorial team, celebrating life in Brislington.

From visions for a future Brislington to a colouring in sheet inspired by the Community Orchard, this edition is a reflection of love, shaped by the people, places, and projects that make our neighbourhood.

Help us get BRIZ into more hands

We’re looking for local volunteers to help distribute the newsletter across Brislington – from Wick Road to Broomhill Road and beyond.

By delivering BRIZ, you’re not just posting a newsletter – you’re helping connect neighbours, share stories, and ensure more people feel part of what’s happening locally. It’s a simple but powerful way to support your community.

You can collect copies of BRIZ from St Anne’s House anytime the café is open (Tuesday–Saturday, 10am–4pm). Head to reception, where you’ll find a list of roads to sign off and newsletters ready to take away (if the door is closed, you can pull of the handle and push, the door will be open during these times)

If you have any questions or want to check in before coming by, feel free to email us at briz@bricksbristol.org.

The newsletter is distributed into houses in Lower layer Super Output Areas (LSOAs) in Brislington. At this point we aren’t able to print or distribute into every house in Brislington, however you can contact us to pick one up, or visit St Anne’s House, local community spaces, i.e. libraries and churches for a copy.

BRIZ Stencil Workshop: Creating Letters

As part of St Anne’s Open House in June, we ran a free BRIZ stencil workshop – inviting visitors to design their own letterforms using stencils inspired by the BRIZ and St Anne’s House fonts.

The activity brought together people of all ages and backgrounds, each adding their own twist to the alphabet. We’ve now gathered a brilliant collection of personalised letters – a celebration of creativity, play, and local character.

BRIZ is currently on pause while we take time to reflect and plan its future.
We’re running a short survey to help shape what BRIZ could become next – it takes less than a minute to complete, and your input would be really valuable.
