Join Us for an Exciting Climate Action Filmmaking Project Exploring Nature and the Climate this Autumn!
We are thrilled to invite young people aged 15-21 to participate in a fun filled 3-month climate action film project, hosted in partnership with Screenology, BFI Film Academy, and Bio-Leadership. This project is perfect for passionate individuals eager to learn or develop their filmmaking and storytelling skills to better communicate stories about nature and the planet. the urgency of the climate emergency.
When?
Every Wednesday for 12 weeks during term-time: Wednesday 18 September- Wednesday 11 December 2024, 5-7pm
One Saturday Session on 23rd November 11am-1pm for location shoot (see here for detailed timetable)
Sessions between St Anne’s House, BS4 4AB and Screenology, St Vincent’s Works, Silverthorne Ln, Bristol BS2 0QD (See here for detailed timetable)
A film festival organised by the group will take place on Saturday 14th December.
What to Expect?
Over the course of the 12 week project, you will:
Learn Essential Film-making Skills: Dive into devising, scriptwriting, camera work, and editing/producing.
Explore Nature-Based Narratives: Immerse yourself in Bio-Leadership’s approach to storytelling around nature.
Create Impactful Short Films: Develop films based on your interests, from science fiction to documentary.
Youth-Organised Film Festival: Showcase your work at a festival featuring your films, panel discussions, and workshops aimed at raising climate awareness and creativity!
Industry Experience: Enjoy a special behind-the-scenes tour at BFI/Watershed, along with screenings and Q&A sessions with established filmmakers
Everyone is welcome, you do not need any previous filmmaking experience to take part!
