Team Impact Days

Managed by Bricks, St Anne’s House is a creative and community hub built from the ground up by the people of St Anne’s and Bristol’s wider creative community.

Five years ago, this was an empty shell. Today, it’s home to a community café, cooperative gym, sauna, therapy and wellbeing services, artist studios, coworking space, and much more, with tens of thousands of people passing through our doors each year.

Running an old, much-loved building isn’t easy: things need fixing, funding is tight, and there’s always work to do. We have big plans for the future, including a major retrofit to make the building warmer, greener and easier to maintain for the long term, but we can’t do it alone. Support from our community, local businesses and partners is what keeps St Anne’s House open, safe and thriving.

Bring Your Team, Make a Difference

Looking for a way to get your team out from behind their desks and into something that actually matters? We run volunteering days designed to do exactly that – real, hands-on work that supports your community while giving your team a genuinely different day together.

The kind of work we’d like you to get  involved in

Expect practical, physical tasks that leave a visible mark, things like:

  • Repairs and general upkeep (painting, fixing, outdoor jobs)
  • Building or installing structures (planters, small builds)
  • Ground and land work (clearing, planting, weeding)
  • Safety and access improvements (steps, rails, surfacing)
  • Seasonal refresh jobs (redecorating, refinishing, tidying up)

Exactly what’s on the list depends on what needs doing when your team comes down. So no two days look the same. What your team ends up doing depends on the time of year, how many of you there are, what you’re able to take on physically, and what you’ve got to spend. We’ll match the work to the group.

There’s a side benefit too: put people from different teams or departments side by side doing physical work, and something shifts. Conversations happen that wouldn’t happen at a desk. It’s an easy, low-pressure way to strengthen how your team works together.

What it costs

£45 per head, with a day’s minimum of £350. That covers a supervisor to run the session, all the kit and materials you’ll need, protective equipment, and refreshments to keep everyone going.

Got a bigger budget? We’ll scale up the project. Working with less? We’ll find something that fits.

You don’t need a full day either – a half day works just as well, so it’s easy to fit around your team’s schedule.

Want to make more of the day?

We can add on lunch, a site tour, an evening get-together, or a room booking if you need space for a meeting or training session either side of the work.
