Ferment, preserve, and pickle with Jar Squad
10/09/2023 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm
This event is now fully booked
Bristol Jar Squad invite you to St Anne’s House to make pickles, chutneys, krauts, jams, and lots of other deliciousness!
Join the group in our community kitchen to learn about fermenting, preserving, and pickling. No-one is an expert, but through the shared experience of figuring things out, following recipes, and winging it a bit, it’s great to give it a go and chat with others for a few hours.
Everyone is welcome, no experience is necessary, and it’s free to join.
What to bring: 2-3 clean empty jars with lids; if you have a lot of seasonal fruit or veg you’d like to share (or ideas of what to make) please let us know in the registration form
Sunday 10 September 2023, 3pm – 5pm, St Anne’s House, Free. Register your space here
Jar Squad is a commoning project which means it’s non-commercial, everyone has a say and we share responsibilities. We have been meeting in kitchens for a year, learning about pickling, fermenting and preserving. We’re excited to be hosting Jar Squad assemblies in Bricks so we can share this experience with more people. Bring those empty jars and join us!
Ps. Jar Squad Bristol is an offshoot of the original project set up by artists Rachel Dobbs, Tess Wilmot and Carmen Wong in Plymouth (UK). Find out more about the Plymouth Jar Squad here
