Event Series: Myths with Marcus

Myths with Marcus

May 29 @ 7:00 pm - 9:30 pm

A head-and-shoulders portrait of a man standing against a plain light background. He has short curly hair, a trimmed beard and moustache, and is smiling gently at the camera. He is wearing a patterned button-up shirt with vertical stripes in green, brown and turquoise tones. The lighting is soft and even, giving the image a calm, natural feel.

Join Marcus, as he creates a space where African and European folklore come to life through oral storytelling. Old stories are given the space to become relevant and meaningful to contemporary audiences.

The sessions are monthly, and free to attend. The evening will weave magic and meaning though the beauty of story! There will be moments of personal reflection, invitational discussion, and hearing new or known stories.

As someone from dual heritage–Black Afro-Caribbean and White European–telling these stories helps me discover where I come from.

Reconnect with people through imagination.
Reconnect with your. ancestors
Reconnect with yourself.

These sessions are open to everyone 18+
