Kenny McCarthy (Involve)

Kenny leads the School for Everyday Democracy at Involve. He is also a facilitator, psychotherapist and co-facilitator of Healthy Human Culture.
Kenny McCarthy is a facilitator, programme lead and psychotherapist working at the intersection of individual, cultural and systemic change.
He works for Involve, the UK’s leading public participation charity, where he leads the School for Everyday Democracy — an innovative new programme designed to build power, skills and connections in everyday people to impact the things that matter most to them.
Kenny believes democracy is something we do, not just something we vote for. The School works with people furthest from traditional power, building their skills in community organising, deliberative democracy and collective care, and supporting them to put that learning into action in their communities.
Alongside this, Kenny co-facilitates Healthy Human Culture – a framework and embodied practice that draws on systems thinking, modern psychology and wisdom traditions to explore how we proactively build healthier relational cultures.
The thread that weaves throughout is reaching toward what’s possible, re-imaging systems, culture and relationships while staying firmly rooted to what is, the collective challenges we face.
