Emma Brown
Emma is an artist based in Bristol. Her practice uses printmaking and illustration, often combining multiple image making processes to create digital and hand made outputs.
She’s interested in the relationship between art and health and returns to this as a theme in her visual outputs as well as a driver for her work with others. This connection with health overlaps with a curiosity about the objects, places and rituals that weave into the everyday and bring comfort or joy.

‘Who’s caring for you?’
This project began in 2020 as a way of gathering research about the ways that healthcare workers in Bristol cope with the challenging work that they do. Emma recently returned the project during a residency in California in May 2023. She has been using drawings made in 2020-21 as the starting point for a series of new collagraph prints.
