Daryl Hooper – THRAWAN

Daryl (she/her) is a textile artist, teacher and quilt maker, as well as a community arts facilitator and visible mender. She believes that everyone has a story to tell, and that making together is a beautiful way to share those stories.
At the heart of Daryl’s work is community. She sees creativity as a powerful tool for connection, joy and collective care. Through sewing, visible mending, quilting and collaborative making, she creates welcoming spaces where people feel encouraged, curious and confident in their own creative abilities.
Her current creative practice and workshops focus on quilt-making and mending, embracing the slow, grounding rhythm of working with thread and cloth. Her work explores storytelling, legacy and the crafting of future personal artefacts. Drawing inspiration from Celtic myth and archetypal figures such as the wild woman, the queen, the maiden, the huntress, the lover, the sage and the mystic, she reconnects with herself and her ancestry with every stitch.
