Buoys Buoys Buoys

Buoys Buoys Buoys

Buoys Buoys Buoys is a folklorist, multidisciplinary artist, and arts facilitator from Swansea.

Using performance, sculpture, and installation, he reimagines human history through absurd storytelling and public play, exploring themes of Queer masculinity, contemporary ritual magic, and working class Welsh folk culture.

With a strong focus on developing collaborative and community-driven projects, he aims to bridge the worlds of grassroots activism, historical reenactment, and education.

Buoys Buoys Buoys co-produces and hosts ‘Perpetually Stew’, a monthly live art exhibition that platforms performance and movement artists, and is a member of OOPARTs collective with Bristol-based sculptor Ben Hartley.

Recently Buoys Buoys Buoys has performed at ArtHouse Jersey, Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Soho Theatre, Yard Theatre, Chapter Arts Centre, and Mission Gallery Swansea.

Alongside live art and sculpture, Buoys Buoys Buoys presents workshops, talks, and events, previously working with Spike Island, Bristol Museum, MAYK, Impermanence, In Between Time Festival, UWE, St Anne’s House, and the University of Bristol.

As well as developing solo work, Buoys Buoys Buoys is currently a member of two ongoing collaborative projects:

OOPARTs is a sculpture and performance project with Bristol-based artist Ben Hartley.

OOPARTs is about objects and how they act as vessels for the stories bestowed on them through folk tradition and community play, and their importance in the construction of heritage and identity.

PLAGUE STONE PARTY is an experimental theatre company with actor and writer Ozzy Algar. With a focus on creating immersive storytelling experiences through the queering of Celtic folktales, PLAGUE STONE PARTY’s first major project ‘Farewell, Tor’ can be seen at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2023.
