Ben Jenner
Ben is an artist from Bristol, U.K. whose practice includes; printmaking, book arts, visual poetry and performance.
His work stems from an interest in the handwritten mark, and is inspired by asemic writing, rooted in abstract expressionism. These organic compositions allude to a tension of conscious and subconscious mark-making, and allow for understanding to happen across all linguistic meaning.

Ben is currently working on a series that investigates the prospect of understanding narrative through reading asemic writing. In particular he is placing himself in locations where the language spoken is not his mother tongue. In immersing himself within these social situations he explores conversation, community and togetherness through language, and creating works based on his research.
