Tess Redburn

Tess Redburn is Head of Creative Infrastructure and Public Art at Bricks, leading the development of its public art and creative infrastructure agency across the West of England.

She works with artists, developers, local authorities, communities and cultural organisations to create opportunities for culture to shape places in meaningful, long-term ways. Her work spans public art commissioning, creative infrastructure, partnership development, strategy and the development of new spaces and programmes.

Tess brings a background in cultural placemaking strategy. Before joining Bricks, she was Strategic Lead at The Place Bureau, developing cultural strategies, place visions, collaborative foresight and creative approaches to engagement for public realm and regeneration projects. Previous clients include The Crown Estate, National Museums Liverpool, Bristol City Council and Snaefellsnes Regional Park, Iceland. She has also worked as a creative producer, designer and educator and holds an MA in Brands, Communication and Culture from Goldsmiths.

Tess is particularly interested in bringing creative thinking into the practical processes of planning and development — connecting people, ideas and opportunities to create places that are distinctive, inclusive and culturally alive.
