Jane Scarth

Jane Scarth is Public Art Producer at Bricks, commissioning new artworks for the public realm, often in partnership with councils and developers.

Her work is focused on realising ambitious projects with artists and connecting new audiences with critical and engaging contemporary art — frequently through collaborations that bring together public institutions, developers and local communities.

Prior to joining Bricks, Jane was Curator: Public Programmes at Whitechapel Gallery, where she led public events, talks, symposiums and performances, alongside the Writer in Residence programme and the Hear, Now podcast series. She also led projects including Ways of Knowing: Imagining Other Futures (2020–2021), the multi-year research strand The Rural (2017–2019) and Nocturnal Creatures festival (2018; 2019), and curated exhibitions with artists including Sophia Al-Maria, Rachel Pimm and Myvillages. Before that, she was Residency and Programmes Manager at Delfina Foundation (2015–2017), working with international emerging and mid-career artists.

The consistent thread across her work is a commitment to ambitious, socially connected public art — bringing critical contemporary practice into shared spaces and to new audiences.

Jane is a trustee of Chapter Arts Centre, Cardiff.
