Meg Buick

Meg has has lived in Rome, Leeds and London and is currently based in Bristol. Since completing the her post-graduate at the Royal Drawing School, she has specialised in Painting and Printmaking, with drawing always at the core of her practice. Meg has won various travel scholarships which have enabled her to deepen her connection with her medium and subject matter. She  spent two months drawing in Madrid as an artist in residence at the Museo del Prado, and in 2015 she was the recipient of an RBA scholarship that enabled her to spend a month in Rome, where she developed her relationship with the paintings of the early Italian renaissance. She was elected as a member of the Royal Society of Painter Printmakers through the Gwen May Recent Graduate Award.

Meg has exhibited work both in the UK and internationally. Her print ‘Dog’ was selected for the collection at the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford and the Jiangsu Art Museum in China. In 2018 artist Marcus Cornish selected her work for inclusion in Flowers Gallery‘s long-running West End exhibition programme “Artist of the Day”, where works have been selected by leading contemporary artists since 1983. The revolving two week exhibition schedule provides a platform for a selected group of artists each year, each presenting a one day solo exhibition at Flowers Gallery’s Mayfair location.

Meg also teaches Painting, Drawing and Printmaking at various art schools, including the Drawing and Printmaking BA at the University of West England, and The Bristol Drawing School at the Royal West Academy. She co-founded the Printmaking studio Cato Press where she also teaches.
