We’re looking for a friendly, reliable person to join our team at St Anne’s House as our Cleaner. This is a brand-new role as we bring our cleaning in-house, and it’s a great opportunity for someone who takes real pride in keeping a space looking and feeling great.

St Anne’s House is a busy, welcoming community building with a café, work spaces and regular events, so no two days look quite the same. You’ll be part of a small, friendly team and will get to know the building well.

We’d love to hear from people with cleaning experience living in St Anne’s, Brislington, and the surrounding area, but we also welcome applicants from further afield.

If that sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you.

Main Purpose of the Role

St Annes House is a vibrant community and work space at the heart of Bristol. This role ensures the building remains a clean and welcoming environment for staff, tenants, and visitors. The role also includes responsibility for keeping the building’s exterior and grounds neat and tidy.

Hours

Hours are spread across three to four days per week and include a mix of early morning and weekend slots to ensure cleaning takes place at the building’s quietest times. There is some flexibility in how hours are structured and this will be agreed with the successful candidate. A suggested working pattern is:

  • Monday, 4 hours (8:00am – 12:00pm)
  • Wednesday, 4 hours ( 6:00am – 10:00am)
  • Friday or Weekend, 4 hours (6:00am – 10:00am or flexible on the weekend)

Some tasks are carried out every visit; others on a fortnightly or monthly rotation. Cleaning should be planned and carried out at considerate times to minimise disruption to building users and avoid tenants walking over wet floors

  • Report to the Facilities Coordinator if any cleaning supplies are running low.

  • Ensure windows are closed and latched when not in use
  • Switch off all lights when leaving
  • Ensure all cleaning equipment and products are stored away safely.

Maintain a clean and tidy appearance for the exterior of the building and surrounding grounds, including:

  • Sweeping and clearing the entrance, steps, and pathways of litter, leaves, and debris.
  • Keeping bin areas tidy and returning bins after collection.

  • Carry out all duties in line with health and safety requirements.
  • Use cleaning products correctly and safely in accordance with COSHH guidelines.
  • Maintain confidentiality and act professionally at all times whilst on the premises.
  • Wear appropriate clothing and any PPE provided.
