New Community Funding For St Anne’s House 

We’re so pleased that The National Lottery Community Fund will be supporting our work with communities at St Anne’s House.

Bricks has been awarded £19,876 to help local communities thrive, and that means even more opportunities for connection, creativity, and care to happen right here in Brislington, Bristol.

From the very beginning, SAH has been a space for people to come together – to mend, read, craft, meet, share ideas, connect, and play, and this new support helps us keep that spirit alive and growing.

Building Together

Over the past three and a half years, the community at St Anne’s House has grown in the most beautiful, grassroots way – through people showing up for each other and making things happen where otherwise there may not have been space to do so.

Together, we’ve built:

  • The Community Living Room – a space for chats, crafts, tea, get togethers, and relaxing
  • Local groups and clubs such as the popular Morning Meet-Up, Shared Reading, Creative Circle, Mending Circle, Batch Cook Club Sessions, Weekly Youth Sessions, and more.
  • Creative and entertaining evening events like St Anne’s QUIZ House, Myths and Storytelling, Live Music Gigs, and more.
  • Climate Action Planning – bringing together local people passionate about caring for our environment and neighbourhood

These things don’t just happen, they happen because people care about their local spaces and people, and it takes many voices and hands to bring it to life.

What This New Funding Means

This support means we can:

  • Keep the Community Living Room free and accessible for everyone
  • Support new ideas from local people who want to try something out
  • Provide space and resources for meaningful activity led by and for the community
  • Create more opportunities for people to connect, skill-share, and simply enjoy being together

It also means we can continue championing community-led culture, with our passionate team supporting residents, artists, organisers, and neighbours to shape what this space can be.
