BRIZ – Summer Issue 2024 is out in the community

Our community newsletter, BRIZ, is currently being distributed into the doors and hubs in Brislington.

In this edition you will find, a non-fiction piece by local best selling author Andy Hamilton, recommended reads by members of Shared Reading, a colouring in sheet by a young people who attends our weekly Tuesday sessions, as well as a sports football piece by artist Jonathan Kelham, and designer Ken Borg – plus much more.

The newsletter content was contributed by volunteer writers, artists, designers, and thinkers who live or work in and around Brislington. The purpose of the newsletter is to encourage connection, community, and help those who may feel isolated to have a printed publication bought right to their doors.

Where can I pick one up?

If a newsletter didn’t arrive to your door, you can collect one from around the area including: (please check public opening times)

  • St Anne’s House
  • Wyatt’s Way Co-op
  • KIN Cafe, Sandy Park
  • These Two Hands, Sandy Park

  • Beeses

Can I volunteer for the next issue?

Absolutely, we are keen to have on board people who live and know Brislington well to help provide content, (note: as part of your volunteering agreement, you must distribute into doors for the next issue), people who can help with the publishing side of the newsletter, volunteers to help plan future pick-up spots, advertisement around the launch, finding sponsors, and more.

We suggest you have something in mind before offering your time, an area you’re the most keen to do to help plan the team moving forward, we are open to having a chat with you about this.

We also would like volunteers to have knowledge of the newsletter, who it’s for, why, and where.

Email: briz@bricksbristol.org – with ‘volunteer’ in the title, to speak with someone.

Supported by: Bristol Impact Fund, Clarion Housing and Bristol City Council.
