Head in the clouds: social dreaming workshop

June 8 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

In this workshop we’ll be letting our imaginations loosey goosey by ‘dreaming’ together as a group.

1pm – 3pm – book here.

The workshop is part of Mother Ducker! Art Weekender in which alternative arts education programme Day School presents the final exhibition of its 2023/24 cohort.

Social dreaming is a practice of working with free association to share dreams and memories in a social space. Rather than interpreting dreams, the process is open-ended and focuses on creating new connections and shared meanings.

Sharing dreams in a group can uncover the shared socio-cultural contexts we find ourselves in and spark new ways of thinking about individual and shared experiences and issues.

We’ll be using clay to pull our collective dreamscapes out of our imaginations and give them physical form. Whatever we create with our clay will be added to the collective sculpture in the exhibition. No prior experience of working with clay necessary.

*Social dreaming is not a therapeutic practice and you’re encouraged to reflect on whether you’re able to support yourself to engage with free association in a group setting before coming to this workshop*

Please book a free ticket to this workshop to manage numbers.

Age: 18+
Duration: 60 mins

The workshop is held at St Anne’s House, BS4 4AB. The ground floor of the building is fully accessible, with accessible toilets.
