Try movement activities\, then use your experience to create your own art! \nFor ages 13-16 | Happening during our free weekly Open Access session — no experience needed! To attend please whatsapp Holly on 077181069539. \nBhavana is an artist\, trained Bharatanatyam dancer\, and works as a Research\nAssociate at Bath Spa University. Her interdisciplinary creative practice bridges\ndance\, curatorial studies\, and critical theory to investigate how movement can help\ngenerate alternative modes of understanding place and history. Her research has\nexplored how performance and body-based practices can be used as political tools\nto challenge ethnocentric ways of being. \nWith an MA in Fine Art from Bath Spa University and a BA in Visual Arts from Stella\nMaris College (Chennai)\, Bhavana has staged performance interventions at\ninstitutions including the British Museum\, V&A\, Victoria Art Gallery\, and Holburne\nMuseum (2023). \nBhavana’s work has been recognized through awards including the Porthleven\nArtists’ Residency Prize and scholarships to attend the Performance Studies\nInternational Conference (2024) and the Performance Epistemologies of the Global\nMajority Summer School (2024). She is currently authoring research on her practice-\nbased work and developing workshops that invite participants to explore collective\nmovement as a form of knowledge production.

DESCRIPTION:For ages 13–18\nTuesday 05 August / 11am–6pm\nBook here.\nThis summer\, we’re heading to the beach – and you’re invited! \nYou asked for more trips and days out\, so we’ve added a free summer trip to Brean Sands as part of our Tuesday Open Access programme at St Anne’s House. It’s a chance to chill\, explore somewhere new\, and hang out together outside the city. \nThe day will include:\nTime on the beach for sports and games\nA walk up to Brean Down Fort along the headland\nA BBQ with food and drinks provided \nWhether you come regularly on Tuesdays or are thinking of joining us for the first time\, you’re welcome to sign up! It’s a great way to get to know the group and the youth workers who’ll be running the day – familiar faces for many of you\, and a friendly team for those just getting started. \nTravel info:\nWe’ll be heading there by minibus and car with Kingswood Community Transport. \nTimes:\nPlease arrive at St Anne’s House by 9:50 so we’re ready to go.We’ll set off at 11am and return around 7pm. \nWhat to bring:\nClothes for beach sports\, plus layers/rainwear just in case (British summer\, after all!). We’ll provide the rest – food\, drinks\, and good company. \nSafety info:The trip will be led by our qualified male and female youth workers who know the group well.
