SUMMARY:Yoga Foundations — 6-Week Beginners Course (April–May)
DESCRIPTION:Get ready to build your yoga foundation in this 6-week course that will leave you feeling centered and strong. \n\n\n\n\nYoga Foundations — 6-Week Beginners Course\n(formerly Yoga for Beginners at Yogasara) \n📍 St Anne’s House\, BS4\n🗓 Wednesdays\, 6.00–7.00pm\n🌿 April–May 2026 \nI’m really happy to be running this well-loved course again\, now at St Anne’s House in Brislington. \nAfter nine years of teaching this course at Yogasara\, it feels good to bring it into a new community space and make it accessible to people local to BS4. \nWhat this course is about\nThis 6-week course offers a gentle\, supportive introduction to yoga. We’ll explore the four core elements of practice: \n• Breathwork\, to calm and steady the nervous system\n• Meditation\, simple practices for presence and perspective\n• Asana (movement)\, building strength\, steadiness and mobility\n• Yoga philosophy\, practical ideas you can take into everyday life \nYou don’t need any experience\, and you don’t need to be flexible. This isn’t about achieving shapes\, it’s about learning how to work with your body\, your breath and your attention in a way that actually supports real life. \nHow the course is structured\, and why\nThis course runs several times a year\, by design. \nWe learn together over six weeks\, then there is space between courses to integrate. Time to practise at home\, attend regular classes with new understanding\, and notice what changes when you live with the practices rather than rushing on to the next thing. \nThis is how learning really sticks. \nWhen we repeat a practice\, pause\, and then return to it\, the brain lays down stronger neural pathways. Things that felt abstract start to make sense in the body. You hear familiar instructions differently. You move and breathe from a more informed\, embodied place. \nEach time you return\, you’re not starting again\, you’re building on lived experience. \nSaturday morning workshops\, between courses\nIn the spaces between the 6-week courses\, I also offer Saturday morning workshops for those who’d like to go a little deeper. \nThese sessions explore the physical practice in more detail\, including: \n• Standing postures\n• Warrior I\, II\, III and IV\n• Balance postures and stability \nThey’re designed to deepen understanding\, build confidence\, and support you to feel more at home in open or mixed-level classes. You can attend them alongside the course\, or return to them later as a refresher. \nCourse dates\n1 April\n8 April\n15 April\n22 April\n29 April\n6 May \nWhy St Anne’s House?\n• Free on-site parking\, including accessible spaces\n• Ground-floor studio with step-free access\n• Bristol Community Sauna and cold plunge on site\n• A vibrant community hub with café and creative spaces \nWhat to bring\nWear comfortable clothes you can move in.\nBring a yoga mat and any props you have\, plus a blanket and pillow for relaxation.\nMats are available to borrow if needed. \nAbout Katie\nI’m a senior yoga teacher with over 1\,500 hours of training\, and a Family Constellations Facilitator. My teaching is supportive\, down-to-earth and practical. \nFor me\, yoga isn’t about becoming more flexible\, it’s about building capacity\, steadiness and perspective\, so life feels clearer\, lighter and more workable. \n👉 Book your place– spaces limited

SUMMARY:Trans Unity Quilt Workshop Bristol
DESCRIPTION:Inspired by the history of textile art in liberation struggles across the world\, the Trans Unity Quilt will be a giant\, collaborative patchwork quilt: a tangible symbol of our diversity and resilience. We’ll be working with individuals and groups throughout the UK to create the quilt during the first half of 2026 before coming together to march our finished quilt at London Trans+ Pride March in July.\nWith this project\, we want to offer grounding\, hopeful collective action in a time of rising hatred and hopelessness. Textile art has long been a tool for radical societal change and resistance: tangible\, physical\, taking up space with its weight and beauty. Our message with the Trans Unity Quilt and its display – first in London\, and then throughout the UK – is that we too are a physical reality that cannot be erased or denied. We’re taking up space\, and taking up our own stories in defiance\, solidarity and joy\, independent of any judgement or hate. \nCome along to make a patch and join trans people across the UK in creating a huge and permanent statement of our joy\, diversity and resilience as a community. Snacks\, drinks and craft supplies provided. No skills needed!

SUMMARY:Life Drawing
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a relaxed\, untutored United Models Life Drawing session in the Mill Room at St Anne’s House\, a creative and community hub in Brislington. \nSimilarly to our Tuesday evening sessions at Kit Form\, there will always be two models posing – one for each half of the session. With this being a 90 minute session\, each model will pose for 40 minutes. Poses will range from 30 seconds to 20 minutes. There will be a short break when the models switch over\, where you can share your drawings. There will also be time for this at the end of the session\, or over lunch! \nCibomatto will be offering a meal deal for our sessions – soup\, coffee and cake. We encourage you to grab a coffee on your way in\, and to join us for lunch after the session. As a new class in this space\, we would like to support the established community at St Anne’s House\, and help make new connections. Sharing delicious food together after a morning of drawing feels like the perfect way to do this. \nBasic drawing materials will be available\, including pencils\, pastels\, charcoal\, paper and drawing boards. We do recommend that you bring your own sketchbook\, if you can. We also access to a few tables\, and there is plenty of space for easels\, if you would like to bring one to use during the session. \nThe session runs from 11:00-12:30. Please arrive at 10.45am to get set up ready for the start time. \nTickets are available on a pay what you can afford basis\, with a £10 minimum. \nEntry requirements: 18+\, any under 18s accompanied by 21+ adult 1:1 ratio
